Interesting Comic Convention fact #3
Artist Alley booths can be grouped into General Categories. I have been collecting data for years, and here for the first time, I present my findings:
The Seasoned Anime Artist Booth: these artists almost always have 11ft diplsays, usually constructed from collapsible shelves or plastic piping. The artist themselves can sometimes be glimpsed through a tiny gap in their wall of artwork, usually drawing away, only emerging to conclude a transaction, and then quickly receding back to the safety of the artsy fortification.
The Shy Kickstarter Booth
These are the Artists trying to push their very first comic series, book etc. These artists are
I was born and raised in New York City which I guess exposed me to all kind of art early on in life. For most of my childhood I had wanted to be an animator then my sophomore year of high school I decided I just wanted to be rich and famous (very original I know). Since then I've been mostly drawing comics, working freelance, finishing school, hanging out with Phantom (my dog), and over all doing what ever seemed interesting to me. Although I still want to be rich and famous until that happens and most likely even after I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.
Favourite Visual Artist
These days I've really been into Sean Murphy, Banksy, Aryz, Skottie Young, LeSean Thomas, Danny Luvisi, Moebious, and a lot more.
Favourite Movies
I love movies in general but top three would have to be The Crow, Tarzan, and Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure.
So Ive been a-wall for bit cause my laptop is fried but still been working so i got alot of traditonal work that will be put as soon as i get a new computer lol
Well apparently Gene Simmons son Nick Simmons has been drawing this comic book called Incarnate not sure how many people have heard of it, it was released by radical comics in august and production of it has been halted due to claims of plagiarism. Heres a http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html to a few of these copies people decided to point out.
Now I don't know bout you guys but it seems to me that it was a pretty straight out case of he just copied the panel exactly line for line, what do you guys think? I simply think its pretty messed up he even got as far as he did by doing this.
So I cut my hair off bout 2 weeks ago, it was a big change seeing as my hair was below my shoulders when I let it down. Now I'm sporting what I call my version of a fuaxhawk, which simply means I'm too lazy to spike it up but I'll probably do it sometime next week before Thanksgiving. So far I've gotten mixed results on the new due, some like some hate some love, and so far every one has asked my why I cut. So far my favorite answer is "I wanna be a Rockstar" which I do but it isnt why I cut it lol.
On the other hand, and more art related I'm applying for a job as a comic penciler, I sent out my application tonight and now I just gotta wait
No prob bro! Hahaha yeah I come on here to check out the work but haven't posted anything in like for ever ago. Gotta get back to spending more time in the deviant lands lol
